The cost of training apprentices will halve
Philip Hammond revealed plans in his Budget to cut the amount that small businesses pay into the apprenticeship levy from 10% to 5%.
The levy requires all companies with an annual wage bill of over £3 million to pay into a central fund to cover the cost of training. This payment will be halved as part of a £695m effort to boost the scheme.
